Lieza Galang and Gilbert Gibo went ahead with their wedding despite severe flooding in the Philippines, walking through waist-deep water to reach the altar and exchange their vows.
The couple married on September 1, 2026, at the San Juan Bautista Parish in Bulacán, one of the areas affected by the recent floods.
Images from the ceremony show the church partially submerged, with the bride and groom making their way through the water before reaching the altar. A small group of relatives and close friends joined them for the ceremony.
The images of the newlyweds walking through the flooded church quickly circulated on social media, drawing attention amid the emergency affecting parts of the country.
According to local media reports cited in the source, the heavy rains and flooding have left 33 people dead, 19 injured and three missing, while around eight million people have been affected.
