A large section of a mountainside collapsed into the Kali Gandaki River in Nepal within seconds, as heavy rain triggered floods and landslides across several districts.
Video recorded near Lete in Mustang District shows the mountainside giving way and sending a massive amount of debris into the river in about six seconds. People watching can be heard screaming as the slope collapses.
The debris briefly blocked the river before the water eventually cut a path through and began flowing again.
In another video, the ground can be seen sinking into a valley, carrying trees and part of a stone-and-wood structure with it. Villagers can be heard shouting as they watch the destruction.
The latest floods and landslides have killed at least 24 people and left 14 others missing across several districts, according to authorities. Three days of continuous heavy rain caused the Kali Gandaki River to rise significantly, damaging areas from Mustang and Myagdi through Parbat and Syangja.

Landslides have blocked highways and complicated search-and-rescue operations, while security forces have moved thousands of people to safer locations. Separately, an avalanche at the Himlung Himal base camp in Manang killed two people and left 10 missing.
