One person was killed and another injured after a traffic accident caused a concrete mixer truck and a Mercedes-Benz to catch fire Thursday morning on Paseo de los Leones Avenue, near the border of Monterrey and García, Nuevo León.
The crash occurred around 8:23 a.m. at the intersection of Paseo de los Leones and Cumbres del Sol. According to preliminary witness accounts, the mixer truck may have suffered brake failure before striking the Mercedes-Benz. Both vehicles caught fire following the collision.
Emergency crews from Civil Protection, Nuevo León Firefighters and paramedics responded to the scene to extinguish the flames and cool the vehicles. One person was trapped inside the car and died as a result of the fire, while another person was injured.
