Russell wins in Singapore, where Alonso was eighth and Sainz, tenth

Sports writing, (EFE).- British driver George Russell (Mercedes) won the Singapore Grand Prix this Sunday, the eighteenth of the Formula One World Championship, a night race held on the hot and humid Marina Bay circuit; where the Spaniards Fernando Alonso (Aston Martin) finished eighth and tenth, respectively.

Russell, 27, who started from ‘pole’, achieved his fifth victory in F1 – the second of the year – by winning in Singapore ahead of the quadruple world champion Dutch Max Verstappen (Red Bull) and another Englishman, Lando Norris (McLaren), whose team mathematically revalidated the constructors’ title, with six races to go. Australian Oscar Piastri (McLaren), championship leader, finished fourth in a Grand Prix that Italian debutant Andrea Kimi Antonelli (Mercedes) finished fifth, ahead of the Ferraris of Monegasque Charles Leclerc and seven-time English world champion Lewis Hamilton; who could lose seventh place to Alonso if it is confirmed that he exceeded the track limits several times at the end of the race. Between the double world champion from Asturias and Sainz crossed the finish line, in ninth position, the Englishman Oli Bearman (Haas).
