NEW YORK. – The stellar slugger Aaron Judge once again left his mark on the history of the New York Yankees by hitting two home runs on Thursday night against the Detroit Tigers at Yankee Stadium, with which he reached 361 home runs in his career, a figure that puts him tied with the legend Joe DiMaggio in fourth place of all time in the franchise.

Judge, who already has
45 and 46 home runs this season, joined a select historical group headed by
Babe Ruth (659), Mickey Mantle (536) and Lou Gehrig (493). The Yankees captain had recently surpassed Yogi Berra (358), solidifying his position as one of the organization’s great sluggers.
The first hit of the night traveled
413 feet at 110.1 mph, according to Statcast, while the second, in the third inning against Sawyer Gipson-Long, was shot out at
114.9 mph, traveling
434 feet to the back of the Tigers’ bullpen.
With this performance, Judge reached
45 multi-home run games in his career, the third most in Yankees history, behind only Ruth (68) and Mantle (46).
In addition, his teammate
Giancarlo Stanton also hit a home run in the same inning, marking the
