Adrián Beltré immortalized with a statue at the Texas Rangers’ stadium

Arlington, Texas. The legacy of Adrian Beltre, one of the greatest glories of Dominican baseball, was sealed in bronze this Friday, when the Texas Rangers unveiled a statue in his honor outside Globe Life Field.

The life-size sculpture shows Beltré in one of his most iconic poses: connecting a home run on his knees, a gesture that became a hallmark of his career and now immortalizes him in the home of the franchise where he established himself as a legend. With this recognition, Beltré joins a select group of Rangers greats who also have their statue at the stadium: pitcher Nolan Ryan and catcher Iván “Pudge” Rodríguez. The inclusion of the Dominican third baseman confirms the indelible impact he left both on the field and in the club’s culture. “This represents what Texas means to me and what we experienced together as a family in baseball,” expressed an emotional Beltré during the ceremony, held before the start of the series against the Cleveland Guardians.

An unforgettable race

Beltré, recently inducted into the Cooperstown Hall of Fame in his first year of eligibility, played 21 seasons in Major League Baseball, eight of them with the Rangers. In Texas, he achieved memorable milestones such as his 3,000th hit, his 400th home run, and two of the three cycles he achieved in his career. After his retirement in 2018, the team immediately retired his number 29, and now, with his statue in Arlington, he is confirmed as one of the greatest symbols in the history of the organization.

The ceremony was led by Rangers executives, local authorities, and thousands of fans who celebrated with applause the tribute to the Dominican. This Saturday, Beltré will receive a miniature replica of the statue as a personal memento, while the first 20,000 fans who attend the stadium will get a commemorative version. Beyond the numbers —3,166 hits, 477 home runs, five Gold Gloves and four Silver Slugger Awards—, the statue celebrates Beltré’s essence: his charisma, his dedication, and his unparalleled passion for the game.
