With the aim of ensuring an orderly and transparent transition, a Special Commission was formed, comprising the President of the Board of Directors, the Executive Secretary, and the Commissioner himself, which will be responsible for leading the process until the election of the new head by the Assembly. The CBPC specified that, in the event that the election has not been completed by the indicated date, what is established in article 27 of the Statutes and the Seventh Resolution of the Assembly of July 13, 2023 will be applied, in order to guarantee institutional continuity and the stability of the Confederation.Strengthening internal governance
During the same assembly, a resolution aimed at clarifying the nature and powers of the Board of Directors was also approved, confirming that this body is part of the Confederation’s governance structure, hierarchically subordinate to the Assembly, but with the responsibility of monitoring, supervising and following up on the fulfillment of its mandates. The Board of Directors, as an intermediate body, will actively participate in the administration of the CBPC, propose initiatives and ensure compliance with the general and specific objectives of the institution, while the Caribbean Commissioner will continue to implement the decisions adopted by the Assembly.Flexibility in the organization of the Caribbean Series
Finally, the Assembly approved that, for the upcoming Caribbean Series, each host country will be free to decide how many and which invited countries to choose, in addition to the CBPC member leagues, providing greater flexibility in the formation of the participating teams and promoting the international projection of the tournament.
