The agreement, which has not yet been officially confirmed by the organization, represents the largest economic guarantee in the history of the franchise. In addition, it includes a club option for an eighth year and various incentives that could raise the total value of the contract to 131 million dollars. Soderstrom, 24, is coming off a standout campaign in 2025, in which he recorded a .276 average, with 25 home runs and 93 RBIs in 158 games. During the season, he split his defensive time primarily between first base and left field, establishing himself as one of the team’s key offensive pieces. The young batter is part of the emerging core of the Athletics, which also includes the current American League Rookie of the Year, Nick Kurtz, in a clear bet by the franchise on young talent and long-term development. Recently, the team also bolstered its roster with the acquisition of former National League batting champion Jeff McNeil, from the New York Mets. With this extension, Atlético ensures the permanence of one of its key figures, sending a message of commitment to future competitiveness and the stability of its sporting project.
