New Jersey.– The emblematic Prudential Center was the scene of an unprecedented event: the celebration of “The Respect Game”, a historic event that for the first time brought Dominican basketball to one of the most prestigious courts in the United States. The initiative, conceived and produced by the organization Por Amor al Basket Inc., under the vision of its president JalexiZ Fernández, made the dream of presenting a classic of Dominican sports a reality: Bameso vs. Mauricio Báez on an international stage, with a production that combined sports, music, and culture.

The match ended with a victory for Bameso (102-92), in a vibrant game that kept the audience on the edge of their seats. However, beyond the score, the true conquest was cultural: thousands of Dominicans and Latinos residing in New York, New Jersey, and neighboring states experienced a night of identity and pride. The evening opened with an emotional tribute by the Christian duo Tercer Cielo, while at halftime the urban energy took over the Prudential Center with El Lápiz Conciente, Bulova and DJ Adoni. Backed by the Consulate General of the Dominican Republic in New York and the NYC Department of Transportation (NYC DOT), the production ensured a safe, inclusive, and memorable event, which marked a before and after in the projection of Dominican basketball. “This had never been done; it was a dream and today it is a reality for all Dominicans who love basketball,” said JalexiZ Fernández, highlighting that this first edition opens the way for new opportunities in the future.
