Young Mexicans are taking part in “aura battles,” a social media trend where participants show off their best moves, poses and meme-inspired gestures to see who has the most “aura.”

In internet slang, having “aura” means projecting confidence, style, presence and a kind of natural magnetism that makes someone stand out.

The expression “aura farming” has also become popular among young people to describe actions intended to boost that perception of presence and attitude.
