The flow of the Iguazú River at Iguazú Falls, on the border between Argentina and Brazil, exceeded 8 million liters per second due to heavy rainfall in the river basin and the El Niño phenomenon.
According to experts, the falls recorded flow rates ranging from 6,580 to more than 12,000 cubic meters per second, with peaks exceeding 8.37 million liters per second during the most intense moments of the rise.
The increased flow transformed the iconic falls into an even more powerful spectacle, as massive volumes of water surged through the falls.
