Santo Domingo.– During the first 100 days of Edward Guzmán’s management at the National Health Insurance (SeNaSa), the institution has consistently safeguarded the protection of its millions of affiliates, guaranteeing timely access and comprehensive coverage at all levels of care, while advancing in the construction of a more efficient, close, and modern version of SeNaSa. Between August and November 22, 2025, SeNaSa authorized more than 26 million medical services, a reflection of the management’s commitment to the quality and well-being of the population. An important part of the resources has been allocated to the areas of greatest social sensitivity. High-cost and maximum complexity treatments exceeded RD$5,427 million, while surgeries reached RD$4,275 million, figures that show the institution’s priority in guaranteeing life-saving treatments. Likewise, the strengthening of specialized diagnosis allowed the authorization of more than RD$4,107 million in clinical studies and evaluations, benefiting millions of users in hospitalizations and consultations. These investments are in addition to essential services such as hospitalizations, emergencies, childbirth, outpatient care and rehabilitation, where a robust and timely response has also been recorded.

Regarding the dispensing of medications in pharmacies, the National Health Insurance highlighted that response times have continuously improved thanks to the optimization processes being executed. As part of this transformation, SeNaSa is integrating new technological platforms to expedite authorizations, strengthen the public network, and expand self-service tools, offering a faster, more reliable, and closer experience for affiliates. These results, the institution pointed out, are consistent with Edward Guzmán’s vision of consolidating a more sustainable SeNaSa and oriented to provide peace of mind to affiliates. The entity reiterated that it will continue to strengthen access mechanisms, ensuring that no citizen is left unprotected in the face of a health need.
