16-year-old teenager dies after allegedly setting himself on fire with a gallon of gasoline

Hato Nuevo, Santo Domingo Oeste.– A 16-year-old teenager passed away after suffering severe burns in an alleged accident that occurred Thursday night in the Hato Nuevo sector of Manoguayabo, after he supposedly caught fire while handling a gallon of gasoline.

The victim was identified as Reymon, who was described by neighbors as an exemplary student and highly appreciated by the community.

According to accounts provided by local residents, the minor was spending time with several companions when they were allegedly handling a gallon of gasoline and matches. According to the testimonies, the teenager was holding the fuel container at the moment a flare-up occurred, reaching him and causing severe burns.

After the incident, the young man was taken to a health center to receive medical attention, where he subsequently passed away due to the severity of his injuries.

The tragedy has caused deep sorrow among family members, friends, and residents of Hato Nuevo, who highlighted the teenager’s qualities and mourned his passing.
