Santo Domingo.– Following a successful first season and critical acclaim, the play “Silencio en Pausa” returns to the stage with performances on July 31st, August 1st, and August 2nd at the Sala Ravelo of the Eduardo Brito National Theater.
Written and directed by Richarson Díaz and starring actress Aileen Said Ceballos, the piece proposes a theatrical experience that addresses deeply human and current themes such as anxiety, emotional exhaustion, daily pressure, and the need to appear normal even when everything seems to be falling apart internally.
The story begins with a scene that awakens the viewer’s unease: a woman lies motionless on the floor. She has a husband, two daughters, and an escape plan, but she also keeps a secret, a truth that has yet to come to light.
From that moment on, the play takes the audience on an intimate journey in which memories, emotions, and an increasingly changing perception of reality make them a witness to a decisive moment: the moment when it is no longer possible to continue pretending.
Far from offering simple answers, “Silencio en Pausa” invites reflection on the invisible burdens that many people face in silence and on the emotional fragility that can hide behind an apparently stable life. With a sober staging and a performance of great intensity, the production offers an intimate, sensitive, and moving experience.
Since its premiere, the play has received critical acclaim for the strength of its dramaturgy, the precision of its direction, and the powerful performance of Aileen Said Ceballos, establishing itself as one of the most outstanding Dominican theatrical proposals of recent years.
This new season coincides with the celebration of the 18 years of Teatro PiedePuente, a company founded on July 1, 2008, whose trajectory has been characterized by the creation of shows that address social and human themes from a contemporary perspective, with a commitment to research-based theater, sensitivity, and artistic engagement.
