Santo Domingo.– The Second Criminal Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice will hear this Tuesday, at 11:00 a.m., the conciliation hearing corresponding to the lawsuit for alleged defamation and slander filed by lawyer Carlos Balcácer against the head of the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for the Prosecution of Administrative Corruption (Pepca), Mirna Ortiz.
The process reaches the court again after having been postponed on two occasions. In the most recent summons, the judges accepted a request from the plaintiff due to Balcácer’s absence, which forced the hearing to be rescheduled.
The hearing will be heard by the Second Criminal Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice, composed of magistrates Francisco Jerez Mena, Frank Soto, María Garabito, and Yorlin Vásquez, who will attempt to facilitate a space for conciliation between the parties.
