Santo Domingo.– After the resounding 3-0 victory of the Dominican Republic over Cuba at the 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games in Santo Domingo, the captain of the Queens of the Caribbean, Brayelin Martínez, assured that the team did not feel any pressure when facing the Cuban national team.
Martínez explained that, despite the history and the rivalry between both teams, the Dominicans took the court focused on executing their game plan and doing the work they had previously prepared.
“There was no pressure. We went out to do our job, to play our game and to enjoy it”, the captain expressed after the match.

The victory against Cuba reaffirms the good momentum of the Queens of the Caribbean in the competition, after they also debuted with a 3-0 win against Costa Rica. The Dominican team thus continues its path in search of the gold medal, with the support of a fan base that once again completely filled the Ricardo “Gioriver” Arias Volleyball Pavilion.
