Santo Domingo.– The National District City Hall (ADN) intensified maintenance work in the capital’s main cemeteries for Father’s Day, which is commemorated this Sunday, with the purpose of offering clean, safe, and suitable spaces for the families who will come to remember their loved ones.
The operation is being carried out in the Nacional Máximo Gómez, Cristo Redentor, and Barrio Obrero de Cristo Rey cemeteries, where the influx of visitors traditionally increases during this date.
The tasks are carried out by brigades from the Public Services Directorate and include tree pruning, weeding, cleaning of common areas, waste collection, painting of entrances and administrative offices, as well as the conditioning of curbs and other public spaces.
The Director of Public Services, Pamela Martínez, explained that these works are part of a preventive plan to ensure that the cemeteries are in optimal conditions and can receive visitors in an organized manner.

For her part, Mayor Carolina Mejía highlighted that these maintenance sessions seek to preserve the dignity of the cemeteries, especially on dates of great significance for thousands of families who come to pay tribute to their deceased relatives.
The city council reiterated that it will continue to carry out cleaning and maintenance actions in these spaces, with the aim of providing an appropriate environment for reflection and remembrance during the commemoration of Father’s Day.
