Santo Domingo.- As part of the social inclusion and protection policies promoted by the Dominican Government, through the National Council for the Elderly (Conape), nearly 700 older adults were benefited during two social inclusion sessions held in the municipal district of La Cueva de Cevicos and the municipality of Fantino, in the Sánchez Ramírez province.
n” “nThe sessions, held on June 18 and 19, facilitated access for older adults to health services, social assistance, legal guidance, social security, and government support programs, contributing to improving their quality of life and guaranteeing the full exercise of their rights.
n” “nThe first day took place at the Rosario Sánchez Secondary School, in La Cueva de Cevicos, where the executive director of Conape, Dr. Demetrio Vicente Ureña, reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to the well-being of this population.
n” “nnn” “n“The president has instructed us to bring services directly to the communities, ensuring that no older adult is left out of the protection and care they deserve,” the official stated.

As part of the actions developed in favor of this population segment, during the administration of President Luis Abinader, 889 solidarity pensions have been granted to older adults in the Sánchez Ramírez province, strengthening their economic security and contributing to improving their living conditions.
n” “nThe day at La Cueva de Cevicos had the support of the local Mayor’s Office, led by Sandy Cartagena, as well as the participation of the provincial governor, Cristiana Rodríguez, and representatives from various public institutions.

n” “nSubsequently, the multidisciplinary team from Conape moved to the Padre Fantino Polytechnic, where they carried out a second session in coordination with the Municipal Mayor’s Office, led by Dr. Damián Núñez.
n” “nDuring both days, services were offered for enrollment in the subsidized regime of the National Health Insurance (SeNaSa), medical and dental consultations, free distribution of medications through Promese/CAL, evaluations for solidarity pensions, identification of social cases, guidance on the rights of older adults, barber services, distribution of food rations, and delivery of meals prepared by the State Economic Canteens.
n” “nThe sessions also had the support of the Provincial Government, the National Council on Disability (Conadis), the National Police, the Civil Defense, the Dominican Red Cross, the Directorate of Social Assistance and Community Feeding (Dasac), and other allied institutions.
