The mayor of the municipal district of La Otra Banda, Alexander “El Hijo del Pueblo”, reported that the Council of Vocal Members of the Municipal District La Otra Banda approved and declared as urgent the construction of the road called Boulevard Turístico La Otra Banda, considering it a high-impact work for the development and growth of the demarcation and the entire province of La Altagracia.
The decision was adopted in an ordinary session and was formally established through Resolution No. 1-2026, which recognizes the strategic importance of this route as a hub for interconnection and relief of vehicular traffic flow in the Municipal District of La Otra Banda.
The Tourist Boulevard La Otra Banda will allow a direct connection with the tourist district Verón-Punta Cana and with the Coral Highway, one of the most important road infrastructures in the Dominican Republic. This work will facilitate mobility, boost investment and strengthen the tourism and real estate development of the area.
Furthermore, the new route will significantly reduce travel time, bringing the tourist expansion zone of La Otra Banda to just eight minutes from Punta Cana International Airport, the country’s busiest airport.
The mayor Alexander “The People’s Son” highlighted that this approval represents a firm step towards the road modernization of the district and reaffirms the authorities’ commitment to progress, urban planning, and the well-being of its citizens.
