David and Yayo consolidate support in PRM bench; Amado Díaz will continue as spokesperson in the Chamber of Deputies

Santo Domingo.– The Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM) caucus in the Chamber of Deputies re-elected legislator Amado Díaz this Saturday as its spokesperson for the upcoming legislative period, in an internal election where he obtained the majority support of his colleagues.

During the vote, 149 deputies participated, of which Díaz received the majority of the votes, while legislator Sadoky Duarte obtained seven votes.

During the meeting, Deputy Rafael (Rafelín) Pérez, representative of the Pedernales province, was also officially integrated into the ruling party’s bench.

The election was marked by the support of legislators linked to the political projects of David Collado and Yayo Sanz Lovatón, who managed to articulate a majority within the ruling bloc that favored the continuity of Díaz as spokesperson.

Likewise, it was reported that Sadoky Duarte leads the group of deputies related to Carolina Mejía’s political project.

With this decision, Amado Díaz will continue to lead the PRM representation in the Lower House during the next legislative period.
