Demi Moore supports Bruce Willis’s wife for how she has taken care of him

Los Angeles.- Demi Moore defended Emma Heming, current wife of her ex, Bruce Willis, after the criticism the model received for the way she has handled the care of the ‘Die Hard’ actor, who suffers from frontotemporal dementia. During an interview with Oprah Winfrey, the actress pointed out that she feels “a lot of compassion” for Heming, who has cared for Willis since his diagnosis in 2022. “Emma had to work hard to understand everything. And the most beautiful thing, and she mentions it in the book, was recognizing the importance of caregivers taking care of themselves. If they don’t dedicate time to make sure they are well, they won’t be able to help anyone else,” Moore said in an episode of ‘The Oprah Podcast’.

Heming faced criticism when she shared in an interview with the American journalist Diane Sawyer that she had to make the difficult decision to move Willis to a separate house where he lives with professional caregivers. The model has been open about the process of caring for her husband and even wrote a book about it, titled ‘The Unexpected Journey: Finding Strength, Hope and Yourself on the Caregiving Path’, which will be released on September 9.

“I feel so much compassion for Emma, being a young woman (…) Nobody could have foreseen the outcome of this situation, and I think she has done a masterful job. She has dedicated herself completely to forging the right path,” Moore told Winfrey.

The ‘The Substance’ actress also talked about how hard it was to see her ex-husband, whom she was married to from 1987 to 2000, go through an illness like the one he suffers from.

“It’s hard to see someone who was so vibrant, strong, and so directed change to this other part,” she pointed out.

In March 2022, the 70-year-old actor’s family announced that Willis had been diagnosed with aphasia, but a year later Heming revealed that the actor was suffering from frontotemporal dementia, a group of disorders that progressively affect the frontal and temporal lobes of the brain, causing changes in behavior, language, and executive functions.
