This document, which defines the technical and safety standards for the official uniform of the police force, within the framework of the new Law 47-25 on Public Procurement, was put up for public consultation until April 16 so that experts, suppliers, academics, and members of civil society can validate and make their observations, in order to ensure that the purchase of these critical supplies meets the highest levels of integrity and efficiency.

On his side, the Director of Strategy and Efficiency of Purchases, Víctor Montero, urged all interested sectors to consult the file and submit their contributions in the Public Consultations section of the DGCP website, at the following link: [https://consultaspublicas.dgcp.gob.do/] Pimentel added that this initiative is the result of a deep historical analysis of the National Police’s purchases, where opportunities were identified in previous administrations to transform them into a model oriented to “value for money,” ensuring that the efficiency of purchases translates into a lasting investment. He affirmed that this analysis was contrasted with exhaustive market studies that evaluate both the capacity of the national industry and global textile innovations.“With the technical sheet we establish the DNA of the uniform and eliminate discretion in purchases, ensuring that the State does not simply acquire isolated garments or uniforms, but a standardized institutional asset that fulfills a clear operational mission, avoiding variations in quality or tone between different batches, which has historically affected the image of cohesion of our police force,” underlined Pimentel.
Finally, the director of the DGCP highlighted that this initiative is part of the police reform process being carried out by the Dominican Government to ensure that each agent has the appropriate tools to exercise their authority with dignity.
