Caracas.- The Minister of Interior and Justice of Venezuela, Diosdado Cabello, announced this Tuesday his return to X, the social network suspended in August 2024 by President Nicolás Maduro, who accused at that time the owner and South African magnate Elon Musk of being part of a “cybernetic coup d’état” against him.

«I’m stopping by here to give a big hug to the brothers and sisters of Venezuela and the world who have been following the issue of our country, we are going to resume this way of communicating, stay tuned. We will overcome», Cabello posted on X. The number two of Chavismo sometimes used the social network to share content from other users, although without adding comments.

Several high-ranking officials of the Venezuelan government, such as Foreign Minister Yván Gil, have returned to using that social network after the United States’ attack against Venezuela, which ended with the capture of Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, on January 3rd. Gil has published several statements on X, which remains blocked in the South American country. On August 8, 2024, Maduro ordered X to be taken out of circulation and gave it 10 days to present “evidence” to the authorities of the South American country.
