Dollar is at RD$59.86; Government highlights exchange rate stability and strength of the Dominican peso
Santo Domingo – The Dominican government highlighted the stability of the foreign exchange market, after the Central Bank of the Dominican Republic reported that the dollar rate for April 23rd is at RD$59.23 for buying and RD$59.86 for selling.
Authorities indicated that this behavior reflects the strength of the country’s macroeconomic fundamentals, amid an international environment characterized by the volatility of financial markets.
Furthermore, it was noted that the accumulated appreciation of the Dominican peso against the dollar, exceeding 5%, has been driven by the dynamism of foreign exchange-generating sectors, including tourism, exports, and remittances.
