Don Juan moves forward with the naming of its streets to strengthen organization and community identity

Don Juan, Monte Plata. – The Municipal Board of Don Juan held the official presentation and installation ceremony for the street names of the municipal district, an initiative that seeks to strengthen territorial organization, facilitate the location of addresses, and contribute to the development of the community.

The project, which began several years ago and has included public consultations, community assemblies, field surveys, and administrative work alongside various institutions, is now entering a new stage with the installation of street signage.

During the event, the municipal director, Lioncito José “Tito”, highlighted the effort made by the work team and pointed out that this initiative will allow residents and visitors to identify the different streets and sectors of Don Juan more easily.

“This is a job that has required many hours, sacrifice, and willpower. We want our town to continue developing and organizing itself to have the Don Juan that we all deserve,” expressed the municipal director.

He explained that the placement of street names will be carried out in phases, starting in the urban area with a first stage that will cover approximately ten days, to then continue towards other communities and sectors, including Payabo, La Jagua, and El Bosque.

Likewise, he highlighted that having an organized nomenclature will allow for improving the location of homes and establishments, facilitating the arrival of services, and contributing to a faster response in emergency situations, including the attention of ambulances and other essential services.

The Municipal Board and the Naming Commission called on the population to take care of the installed identifications and to report any act of vandalism or damage to them, so that the corresponding measures can be taken.

The council members, the vice mayor, the presidents of the neighborhood associations, and other personalities were present at the venue.

With this initiative, Don Juan takes a step towards a more organized community, identified with its history and strengthened by the sense of belonging of its inhabitants.
