In that context, a local journalist asked the Republican leader: “What do you have to say to American farmers who feel that the agreement benefits Argentina more than them?” Trump’s response was very harsh: “Argentina is fighting for its life, miss. You don’t know anything about it. They are fighting for their life. Nothing is benefiting Argentina. They are fighting for their life. Do you understand what that means? They have no money, they are fighting with all their might to survive.”

“If I can help them survive in a free world… I like the president of Argentina. I think he’s doing everything he can. But don’t make (he told the reporter) it seem like they’re doing very well. They’re dying. Okay? They’re dying,” the American president finished bluntly. These statements come after the recent meeting between Trump and Milei at the White House, where the American president gave another strong backing to the libertarian administration, in the run-up to the legislative elections to be held next Sunday: “If a socialist or a communist wins, you feel different about making an investment. If (Milei) loses to an extreme left-wing candidate, we will not be generous with Argentina”.However, the Argentine government clarified that it did not refer to the election on October 26. “That was a misunderstanding”, said Milei, explaining that as long as he or someone who defends the ideas of freedom is in the Casa Rosada, American support will be guaranteed.
Milei ruled out that Trump would ask for any benefit related to the country’s sovereignty in exchange for financial support, and explained that it is a strategic vision of international politics on the part of the American president. “The US had a policy towards this region that neglected its allies and tried to seduce those who were adversaries. With the arrival of Marco Rubio, who perfectly understands the cultural battle, knows the case of Cuba, they decided to change the approach, and today they reward the allies,” explained Milei. “There is a clear international policy from Trump regarding how he sees the world order, he is willing to lead the region and considers Argentina an ally. He has stated this in words and deeds,” he added.
