Santo Domingo.- The East Electricity Distributor Company (Edeeste) urges customers within its concession area to immediately report any contracting brigade that requests payments to perform services related to the electrical area. The company warns that contractor brigades that engage in these practices are committing acts of fraud, breach of trust, and extortion, which will be sanctioned through the corresponding channels. Edeeste reiterated that all services offered by the authorized brigades are totally free, therefore, it calls on the citizenry to report these illegal actions through 829-637-1099, the website www.edeeste.com.do, the email centinela@edeeste.com.do or through direct message on their social networks.

The distributor indicated that this type of practice not only harms the company, but also directly affects customers’ pockets, as these wrongdoers seek to guarantee a “fixed fee”, even causing breakdowns to then offer solutions in exchange for money. Likewise, the company recalled that the contracting brigades only go out to normalize breakdowns or carry out interventions when they have an order or service note associated with a report made by the client or by the system. This allows Edeeste to audit and supervise the work carried out in a transparent manner, ensuring compliance with established procedures. Edeeste also recommends that users note the vehicle’s license plate, file number or brigade identification, as well as take photos or videos, if necessary, in order to strengthen investigations.
