Nagua.- Authorities are investigating an alleged femicide-suicide that occurred this Friday afternoon, June 12, 2026, in the municipality of Nagua, María Trinidad Sánchez province.
The victim was identified as Berkis María Lantigua, 53 years old, while the man involved is Héctor Rafael Hernández, 54 years old.
According to preliminary information, both were divorced. Unofficial versions indicate that Hernández had convinced his ex-wife to meet at a cabin located on the outskirts of Nagua, near the Las 40tas sector.
According to reports, the man allegedly took the woman’s life using a bladed weapon and subsequently took his own life.
