Carmen Herrera urges the family to play its protective role
Santo Domingo.– The expert in migratory affairs and Family Law, Dr. Carmen Herrera, warned that Dominican society must act with responsibility and firmness to stop the spread of the phenomenon known as “Therian”, considering that its advance could generate negative consequences on the emotional stability of young people and on the traditional structure of the family.
When analyzing the topic as part of the content of the podcast she produces with Keidy Peña, from the Madre Todo Terreno community, through the YouTube channel of Color Visión, the expert indicated that the Dominican Republic is a society based on values, principles, healthy coexistence and respect for the family nucleus, so any external cultural current must be evaluated with criteria and social awareness.You can also read: Priest warns that “Therian” reflects loss of the fear of God
The jurist maintained that it is fundamental to strengthen values education, the sense of family belonging, and spiritual formation as pillars of emotional balance in children and adolescents. She recalled that Article 55 of the Dominican Constitution establishes that the family is the foundation of society and must be protected by the State.“If we do not commit to guiding in a timely manner, we could face in the immediate future a generation disconnected from its identity, its role in the family, and its social responsibility,” he expressed.
