FBI and INL units arrive in Barrero with canines to reinforce the search for Brianna Genao
Puerto Plata. – Specialized units from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs Office (INL), attached to the United States Embassy, arrived this Wednesday in the community of Barrero, in the municipality of Imbert, to join the search operations for the minor Brianna Genao Rosario, who has been missing for more than fourteen days without positive results.
Although the presence of international organizations has not been officially confirmed by local authorities, FBI technical teams were seen arriving in the area aboard several SUVs —one gray and another black— accompanied by members of the Criminal Investigations Department (Dicrim), along with specialized canine units.
The integration of these international teams aims to strengthen the tracking efforts continuously carried out by the Dominican authorities, given the complexity of the case and the time elapsed since the girl’s disappearance.
Since the beginning of the search, relief organizations, the National Police, and the Armed Forces have deployed extensive operations in wooded areas and areas adjacent to the community, using drones, canine units, specialized personnel, and repeatedly expanding the search perimeter.
The authorities have cordoned off the area around Barrero and have reiterated that the operations will not stop until the whereabouts of the minor are found, while the Public Ministry continues to deepen the investigations to clarify the circumstances of her disappearance.
