Santo Domingo.-The Organization of the Miss Dominican Republic National Beauty Pageant celebrates tonight the official presentation of the second group of candidates who will compete for the crown in the commemorative edition of the pageant’s 70th anniversary.

In the presence of personalities such as designers Gianinna Azar, Leonel Lirio, and other important figures, the young representatives from different provinces and municipalities of the country made their appearance before the public and the media in an atmosphere charged with emotion and elegance, featuring a grand runway and technological resources.

The most emotional point of the night was the traditional Sash Ceremony, the official ceremony in which each delegate received the sash that accredits her as a representative of her community. The act, loaded with symbolism, reaffirmed the commitment, responsibility, and pride of holding high the name of their province in the national competition.

The 2026 edition holds special significance as it commemorates seven decades of Dominican participation in Miss Universe, consolidating the pageant as a platform that has fostered the integral development of Dominican women and promoted values of leadership, community service, and international projection.

In line with that spirit, the organization reaffirmed its social commitment by supporting the Autism House, a charitable initiative it has been promoting since 2022 to provide support to children, young people, and families on the autism spectrum, and to which this edition will be dedicated.

Magali Febles, general director of Miss Dominican Republic, expressed her pride in presiding over the 70th edition of the pageant and highlighted how Dominican beauty has transcended borders over seven decades, serving as an ambassador for the country’s culture and tourism to millions of viewers around the world. For Febles, Miss Dominican Republic is today a legacy and a country brand, backed by the Dominican Republic’s positioning among the nations with the greatest relevance in the history of Miss Universe.
