A violent event disrupted the tranquility of a family in the Villa Guerrero sector, in El Seibo province, when a four-year-old child was injured by a bullet impact while inside his home.

The incident occurred around 5:00 in the afternoon, when the minor was watching television in the living room of his house. The house, built of wood and zinc, has a patio enclosed by a gate of the same material. At that moment, a bullet hit the child, causing alarm among the family and neighbors of the place.

According to Marcia Mejía, the minor’s maternal grandmother, as reported to Diario Libre, the child’s mother, Franchesca Frías, had recently returned from her workday when the event occurred. The woman assured that the event happened suddenly, without the family noticing any prior dangerous situation.

The child was immediately assisted and taken to a health center, where he received medical attention. So far, no official details have been offered about his condition or the origin of the shot.

Authorities reported that they are investigating the case to clarify the circumstances in which the event occurred and determine responsibilities. The incident has generated concern among the residents of the sector, who requested greater security in the area.
