Green Day formally opens Super Bowl 2026

Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, felt a surge of adrenaline with the presentation of the renowned American Punk Rock band, Green Day, in a pre-game ceremony that will pit the New England Patriots against the Seattle Seahawks. “We are super excited to inaugurate Super Bowl 60 in our own home!” said Billie Joe Armstrong, singer of Green Day, while they performed their most emblematic songs including “Holiday”, which marked the formal beginning of the presentation. During the concert, the vocalist also modified the lyrics of the song Holiday to include a political reference that quickly went viral on social media, reinforcing the band’s tradition of using their music as a vehicle for social criticism.

To these were added “Boulevard of Broken Dreams”, one of the greatest hits of his career, followed by American Idiot, one of the most anticipated songs by the public which is considered a critical anthem against the political and social system of the United States.
