Green sea turtle rescued in Las Galeras receives specialized care at the National Aquarium

Samaná.- A green sea turtle (Chelonia mydas), an endangered species, was rescued this afternoon in La Playita de Las Galeras, after being under monitoring since March. The specimen, which presents a protuberance identified as a papilloma, was transferred to the National Aquarium, where it receives specialized treatment from marine conservation professionals. The rescue was possible thanks to the public denunciation made by the communicator Estarlyn Carela Morillo, who alerted about the situation through regional media and social networks.
