Port-au-Prince, Haiti – The Prime Minister of Haiti, Alix Didier Fils-Aimé, assured that the year 2026 will mark a turning point for the country, with the recovery of citizen security and the organization of elections as priority axes of his management.
Through a message spread on social media, the head of government expressed that “2026 will be the year of security” and “the year of elections”, emphasizing that this period will represent the moment when “the people recover their country”.
According to a publication by a Haitian media outlet, Fils-Aimé highlighted the progress made by security forces in recovering territories previously under the control of armed gangs. In this context, he stated that “fear has changed sides”, referring to the progressive weakening of criminal groups.
