Santo Domingo.– Hospiten Santo Domingo and the UCSD signed an inter-institutional collaboration agreement with the purpose of strengthening academic training, scientific research, continuing education, and the development of professional competencies in the health sciences.

The agreement was signed by Benjamín Palmero, Managing Director of Hospiten Santo Domingo, and Reverend Father José Luis de la Cruz, Rector of the Catholic University of Santo Domingo, and contemplates the creation and development of undergraduate, postgraduate, and continuing education academic programs, as well as initiatives for scientific research, university extension, and social responsibility. Likewise, it establishes mechanisms to promote the exchange of knowledge, collaboration between professors and researchers, and the carrying out of academic activities such as congresses, scientific symposiums, conferences, courses, and workshops.

“This alliance will allow both institutions to develop joint programs, projects, and activities that integrate Hospiten’s clinical experience with the academic excellence of UCSD, to promote the comprehensive training of students, graduates, and professionals for the benefit of the health system and Dominican society,” stated Benjamín Palmero.

One of the main pillars of the agreement is the opening of spaces for professional internships, traineeships, clerkships, and clinical rotations, allowing UCSD students to strengthen their training in a high-complexity hospital environment, with access to cutting-edge technology and the guidance of highly qualified specialists.

In addition, both institutions will promote joint research projects on topics of common interest, encourage the temporary exchange of students, professors, and researchers, and share teaching and research materials and resources, in accordance with the policies of each entity.

With this collaboration, Hospiten Santo Domingo strengthens its mission to contribute to the development of human talent in the healthcare sector, promoting continuous training and innovation as pillars of quality medical care.
