Santo Domingo.– The Ministry of Interior and Police issued Resolution No. MIP-RR-0001-2026, through which it establishes a series of preventive measures to guarantee citizen security during the Easter break 2026, which provide for the prohibition of
massive parties and the restriction on the sale of alcoholic beverages.
The official provision establishes in its article 1
the prohibition of massive parties,
both public and private, on beaches, rivers, streams and spas, as well as the installation of temporary structures in these spaces. This measure will be in force
from Sunday, March 29th to Sunday, April 5th, 2026, covering the entire period of greatest mobility for Holy Week.
Meanwhile, Article 2 stipulates the
total prohibition of the sale of alcoholic beverages for 24 hours on Good Friday, corresponding to April 3, 2026.
Likewise, Article 3 instructs the National Police and the Directorate of Alcohol Beverage Sales Control (COBA) to ensure strict compliance with these provisions, executing the necessary actions in accordance with the law.
The resolution, signed by Minister Faride Raful, is based on the need to preserve public order, prevent incidents, and guarantee the safety of citizens in the face of increased travel and gatherings in recreational spaces during Holy
Week.
