Santo Domingo. — The Civil Aviation Board (JAC) reported that air operations between the Dominican Republic and Venezuela continue to operate normally on authorized routes, while commercial service to Caracas remains suspended.
The president of the JAC, Héctor Porcella Dumas, explained that the current restriction is limited to the Venezuelan capital, so flights to other cities in the South American country continue to operate regularly.
Among those destinations is Valencia, a city that continues to receive flights from the Dominican Republic, allowing for the maintenance of passenger and cargo transport between both nations.
Porcella indicated that the JAC has continued to authorize operations to Venezuela as part of the actions to guarantee air connectivity. In that sense, he recalled that Rutaca Airlines received approval to move its operations from the Simón Bolívar International Airport in Maiquetía to the Valencia airport, with the aim of ensuring the continuity of its services.
The official highlighted that several airlines maintain their itineraries between the Dominican Republic and various Venezuelan destinations, contributing to commercial, tourism, and family exchange between both countries.
Likewise, he recalled that, following the recent earthquakes recorded in Venezuela, the Dominican airlines Arajet and Sky High carried out humanitarian flights to transport food, medicine, essential supplies, and rescue brigades to the affected areas.

The president of the JAC also reported that the institution is working on the approval of a new route to Valencia, an initiative that seeks to expand air transport options and strengthen connectivity between the Dominican Republic and Venezuela.
Finally, he pointed out that aeronautical authorities continue to evaluate the necessary conditions to resume commercial operations to Caracas when circumstances permit.
