Villa Hermosa, La Romana.– After teacher Génesis Medina Domínguez shared several videos on different social media platforms denouncing alleged mistreatment by her former romantic partner, architect Jancel Martínez held a press conference this Thursday to present his version of the events.
During his appearance before the media, Martínez, who is facing legal proceedings related to alleged violations of a protection and restraining order, rejected the accusations of domestic violence and maintained that the conflict has its origin in a property separation process.
As explained, during the marriage both built, through financing, an apartment building located on 15th Street in the Pica Piedra sector, in the municipality of Villa Hermosa, a property that is currently part of the patrimonial dispute.
The architect stated that the complaints filed against him are part of a strategy allegedly designed by his ex-partner and her lawyer, with the purpose of exerting pressure on him to reach a favorable financial agreement within the property division process.
Martínez indicated that the case is under the cognizance of the Gender Violence Victim Assistance Unit, where, he asserts, he will present the evidence that supports his version of the facts.

Likewise, he stated that he has never been capable of physically or psychologically assaulting the mother of his children and expressed his confidence that the authorities will act with impartiality, respecting due process and making their decisions in accordance with the evidence and current legislation.
The architect concluded by reiterating his confidence in the Dominican justice system and said he hopes the process will allow the facts to be clarified and the truth to be established in accordance with the law.
