Spanish singer Julio Iglesias spoke out publicly again this Wednesday night amid the investigation he faces in Spain for alleged sexual assaults, harassment and abuse of power, against two former employees of his properties in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic and Bahamas.
Iglesias, in his defense, disseminated private conversations and revealed the names (which until then were unknown) of the women who accuse him of these acts, as part of what he defines as his legitimate defense against what he considers a disinformation campaign against him.
Through his social media, the artist expressed his rejection of the actions of the Spanish Prosecutor’s Office, stating that he has been prevented from formally accessing the complaint and exercising his defense within the judicial proceedings, which, according to him, forced him to defend himself publicly.

Among the published conversations is a message dated “April 20, 2021”, in which Abréu writes to him: “Professor, good evening… I love you very much and if you need anything from me, I am at your entire disposal”, as well as other subsequent messages, sent on the days “May 1 and 4, 2021”, in which he asks him to let him know when he should go to do exercises and reminds him of the use of a postural belt.
Iglesias also disseminated screenshots of messages sent in “September 2021”, in which Abréu expresses concern for his health, wishes him a speedy recovery, and reiterates his availability. In one of them, dated “September 5th,” it reads: “I’m leaving Corales now, professor… I love you very much, thank you for everything,” without any response from the artist being observed. A year later, “on September 23, 2022,” the same woman would have sent him a message to congratulate him on his birthday, accompanied by an affectionate dedication in which she signs as “your physical therapist forever,” a message that the singer included as part of what he considers a contradiction to the accusations that are being investigated today. In addition to these conversations, Julio Iglesias published messages attributed to a second woman, identified as María Alejandra Feliz, who is also allegedly part of the accusers. According to the screenshots released, she would have written to him on “January 2, 2023”, to wish him a happy new year, at the same time expressing the feeling that the artist “didn’t want to know” about her. In later messages, dated “May 2023”, Alejandra contacts Iglesias again to greet him, wish him well, and make herself available, writing phrases such as: “I hope I’m not bothering you… I love you very much and I’m at your service”, without, according to the published images, any response from the singer. With the publication of this material, Julio Iglesias seeks to offer a different perspective on the facts and maintain his public defense against accusations that, he claims, have seriously damaged his reputation. While the judicial investigation continues, the artist insists that these conversations demonstrate what he describes as malice, inconsistencies, and a false narrative constructed against him to harm him, categorically rejecting the accusations against him.
