Baní.-Agents of the South Central Regional Sub-directorate of Investigation (Dicrim) arrested a man in the act, accused of snatching a gold chain from a citizen in the municipality of Baní, Peravia province.
The detainee was identified as Darlin Alexander Ariste, alias “Ninino”, 25 years old and a resident of the Santa Rosa sector.
According to the police report, the arrest was possible thanks to the tracking carried out through the analysis of surveillance cameras, which allowed the suspect to be located shortly after committing the act.
The images show when, on board a black motorcycle, he intercepts a 54-year-old woman, a resident of the Los Cajuilitos sector, and allegedly snatches a 14-karat gold chain from her.

The arrest took place on Canela Mota Street, at the back of the Santa Rosa sector. At the time of the arrest, Ariste was traveling on a black Tauro Turbo motorcycle, Nitro 125 model, without a license plate.
During the search, the officers found a chain with its medal in one of his pockets, which was recognized by the complainant as the one that had been stolen. In addition, a black iPhone cell phone was seized from him.
The detainee remains in custody at the Baní police station and will be placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor’s Office for the corresponding legal purposes, while the authorities continue the investigations into the case.
