Man sentenced to 15 years for raping a woman in Santo Domingo Este

Santo Domingo.- Upon accepting the request of the Public Ministry, a court sentenced a man to 15 years in prison for sexually assaulting a woman, in an incident that occurred in 2025, in the La Isabelita sector of Santo Domingo Este.

The sentence was handed down against Bradley Iradiel Díaz Ferreras, for the damages caused to the victim. The file compiled by investigating prosecutor Yesica Martínez details that the investigation began on January 2, 2025, after the case was reported to the Public Prosecutor’s Office. It indicates that while the victim was sharing with Díaz Ferreras and other people, she began to feel dizzy, so she decided to leave the place, at which point the defendant offered to accompany her. While they were moving in a taxi, taking advantage of the victim’s unconscious state, the defendant ordered the driver to change the route, taking her to his house and once there, sexually abused her.

It reveals that, when the victim woke up, they were naked and upon leaving the room, found the now-prosecuted individual watching the recording of what they had done. The Public Ministry, represented by litigating prosecutor Francisco Vinicio, presented the court with sufficient evidence demonstrating the criminal responsibility of the defendant, who, with his actions, violated article 331 of the Dominican Penal Code, as amended by Law 24-97, on Gender-Based and Intrafamily Violence. By order of the Second Collegiate Court of Santo Domingo Este, composed of judges Josefina Ubiera Guerrero, Ana Miledys Taveras and Isaías R. Martínez, the aggressor will serve the sentence in the Correction and Rehabilitation Center (CCR) Las Parras.
