Santo Domingo.– Christian music singer and preacher Martha Candela, known for her unique style that combines urban and mambo rhythms with Pentecostal praise, highlighted the message of overcoming and second chances that, in her view, is conveyed by “Los Rechazados 2: Operación Espacial”, a production in which she participates.
During the film’s premiere gala, Candela recounted that she was initially unaware of the project and was surprised by the proposal upon reading the script. However, she assured that her perception changed once she joined the team and met the actors and other collaborators.
“I came here because I was invited. I didn’t even know what this was about. When I saw the script, I said: ‘But what is this?’. Because I am a serious person. I don’t mess around”, he/she recounted.
The performer, who takes on a role within the film, highlighted the atmosphere of camaraderie she found during the production process and valued the talent of those who are part of the cast.
“When I walked in and saw the group of guys, I said: ‘Oh my God, this is a family.’ There is so much talent there together. There is respect, there is discipline,” he/she expressed.
Although she acknowledged that her participation is small, Candela stated that she took on the character with dedication and commitment.
“I was given a small role, but I did it with my heart. Because when you work for God, you give it your all,” he stated.

The singer and preacher also considered that this second installment differs from the first by incorporating a message that transcends entertainment.

“This movie, ‘The Rejected 2’, is not like the first one. This one has a message. Here, it talks about overcoming, about second chances. That no one is perfect,” he maintained.
Candela also took the opportunity to highlight the work of José Ramón Alamá, the film’s producer and screenwriter, whom she defined as “a genius” for his ability to identify and develop new talent.

“He takes people from the street, people that no one gives a chance to, and makes them shine. That is worth a lot,” he stated.
The artist called on the Dominican public to support local cinema and especially recommended that families go to the theaters to enjoy the production.
“I tell all mothers, all grandmothers: go with your grandchildren. Laugh, enjoy yourselves, but also learn. Because this movie leaves a lesson,” she stated.
“The Rejected 2: Space Operation”, directed by Yasser Michelén and produced and written by José Ramón Alamá, will arrive in theaters across the country on August 13th.
