Santo Domingo. – The Minister of Tourism, David Collado, paid a courtesy visit this Sunday to the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz (CVN-68), at the invitation of the United States Ambassador to the Dominican Republic, Leah Campos.
The visit began at the San Isidro Air Base and included the participation of the Minister of Defense, Lieutenant General Carlos Antonio Fernández Onofre; Vice Admiral Juan Bienvenido Crisóstomo Martínez, Commander General of the Dominican Republic Navy; Vice Admiral Agustín Alberto Morillo Rodríguez, Vice Minister of Defense for Naval and Coastal Affairs; and Major General Jorge Iván Camino Pérez, Commander General of the Dominican Republic Army.

Upon arrival at the USS Nimitz, the delegation was received by Captain Joseph J. Furco, commander of this iconic United States Navy vessel, who led a tour of various operational areas of the aircraft carrier.
During the visit, the authorities learned firsthand about the capabilities, operations, and functioning of one of the most important naval units in the U.S. fleet.
The activity took place in an atmosphere of cordiality and cooperation, strengthening the bonds of friendship and collaboration between the Dominican Republic and the United States.
