Moderate vehicular traffic marks Christmas Eve in Gran Santo Domingo

Santo Domingo. – The night of this Thursday, December 25th, is passing with a moderate vehicular flow in the main roads of Greater Santo Domingo, with a circulation lower than that observed in previous years during the same date. Avenues such as 27 de Febrero, John F. Kennedy, Máximo Gómez, Winston Churchill, and Duarte highway present constant traffic, mainly of citizens returning to their homes after sharing with family, without any major traffic jams being reported so far. Agents of the General Directorate of Traffic and Land Transportation Safety (DIGESETT) are stationed at strategic points, contributing to traffic flow and order at intersections with the highest circulation.

In general, the celebration of Christmas takes place peacefully, with less traffic congestion, reduced noise, and a calmer atmosphere compared to previous years, reflecting a more prudent citizen behavior during these festivities. Authorities reiterated the call to drive with caution, respect traffic signals, and avoid drinking alcohol while driving, in order to ensure a safe end to the Christmas celebrations.
