Every August 14th, the Dominican Republic celebrates National Engineer’s Day, a date dedicated to recognizing the work of engineering professionals and their contribution to the country’s economic, technological, and social development. The commemoration highlights the fundamental role that engineers play in the planning, design, and construction of infrastructure works, as well as in innovation across sectors such as energy, telecommunications, industry, computing, and the environment.
The anniversary is promoted by the Dominican College of Engineers, Architects and Surveyors (CODIA), an institution that organizes commemorative activities, Eucharists, recognitions and patriotic acts to highlight the commitment and ethics of engineering professionals.
