One dead and one injured in traffic accident on Estrella Sadhala Avenue, in Santiago

Santiago.- A motorcyclist died and another person was injured during a traffic accident that occurred early this Friday morning on Estrella Sadhala Avenue, near the intersection with Bartolomé Colón in this city The victim was identified as Santo Luciano de la Cruz, 59 years old, who died after being hit by a gray Mazda vehicle, whose driver had previously collided with another car and then lost control, running over the motorcyclist who was stopped at the traffic light. The injured person, whose name was not immediately offered, suffered multiple blows and was transferred to a health center, where they remain in recovery.

According to the account of Dionisio de la Cruz, son of the deceased, the driver of the involved car fled the scene, but the vehicle remained embedded against one of the walls of the road, which allowed the authorities to intervene. The accident has caused consternation among family members and residents of the municipal district of Santiago Oeste, the community where Santo Luciano was originally from, who was defined as a hardworking and well-loved man.
