Police dismantle alleged drug point in Villa Hermosa and seize controlled substances

La Romana.– Members of the National Police dismantled an alleged drug sales point during an operation carried out in the Pica Piedra sector, in the municipality of Villa Hermosa. The intervention was carried out by agents of the Rapid Action Unit of the Eastern Regional Directorate, as part of the preventive operations that seek to strengthen security and guarantee a climate of tranquility for citizens. During the operation, agents seized 37 portions of a vegetable presumably marijuana and 42 portions of a white, rocky material presumed to be crack, as well as a homemade type shotgun.

According to the preliminary report, the place was used as an alleged distribution center for narcotics in the area, which is why it was intervened and dismantled by the authorities. The seized evidence will be sent to the corresponding agencies for the legal purposes in place, while investigations continue to determine possible individuals responsible linked to the operation of this drug sales point.
