Police seize two weapons and recover motorcycles in Moca; they are searching for an alleged suspect involved in a robbery

Moca, Espaillat province.– Agents of the Regional Sub-directorate of Criminal Investigation (DICRIM) of the National Police seized two firearms, recovered three motorcycles, and retained various parts and spare parts during an intervention carried out in the El Perú sector of this municipality, as part of the investigations related to a robbery case that occurred last May.

The police action was carried out in a wooden house, where authorities were attempting to arrest Albin José Collado Almonte, identified as the alleged co-perpetrator of the robbery of a gold chain and bracelet from a citizen, an incident that occurred on May 17 in the community of Canca La Reyna, Moca.

According to the preliminary report, upon noticing the presence of the agents, Collado Almonte managed to escape from the scene, which is why a search operation was immediately activated to locate him and proceed with his capture.

During the inspection carried out at the property, investigators seized an HS-2000 brand pistol, 9-millimeter caliber, with its magazine and three cartridges; as well as another Hi-Point brand pistol, .380 caliber, with an illegible serial number, a magazine, and five cartridges. Three motorcycles of different makes and models that did not have the documentation to prove their legal origin were also recovered.

Likewise, the authorities seized numerous motorcycle parts and accessories, which will undergo a verification and clearance process to determine their origin.

The National Police reported that it maintains an active search for Albin José Collado Almonte, with the objective of placing him at the disposal of the Public Ministry and continuing with the corresponding investigative process.

The firearms, motorcycles, and other seized evidence will be forwarded to the Public Prosecutor’s Office for the established legal purposes.
