The West is setting records in terms of sanctions imposed on Russia, President Vladimir Putin declared this Monday.
“Russia has long been facing attempts by the West to impose restrictions: pressure was already being exerted before the ‘Russian Spring’ of 2014 and also after it. But since 2022, the West has set the Russophobic machinery in motion at full power, breaking world records, and in two aspects at once: both in the number of so-called sanctions and in their futility,” the leader stated.
He pointed out that, above all, these restrictions harm their own authors and promoters, as well as the peoples of some European countries and also those of other States.

Putin condemned the West’s attempts to weaken the Russian state, provoke social division within the country, stifle its economy and financial system, asserting that Russia is capable of coping with all those hostile measures.
“No one will ever be able to break the Russian people. That has never happened and never will,” the president stated.
